Graduating from college is undoubtedly one of the most exciting times in the life of a young adult. No more papers to write, tests to take, or Ramen noodles to eat. Finally, everything you’ve spent your entire life preparing for is just within reach.
Wait…is that exciting, or is it terrifying?
In actuality, it’s a little bit of both for most college grads as they move from the relatively carefree life of a student to the more structured world of an adult. That, of course, means getting a job, but for many new graduates, it’s not quite that simple. Despite the fact that the job market for recent graduates is the best it’s been in 12 years, many young adults will still find themselves without a job offer when school ends. And they may not even fully understand what they want to be when they grow up.
So, what’s a new graduate to do? We asked ID Plans CRO Seth Garber for his best advice for people coming out of college. As a frequent mentor for students at his alma mater, the University of Tampa, he had a lot of great tips to share.
